    Fabulous

Location very convenient both for the city and the train and bus stations. Breakfast, although a little expensive at €7, was very good. The hotel manager, Natalie, was extremely helpful in answering all my tourist enquiries and provided useful advice on local shops.

The decor and furnishings in the room were very dated but helpful owners and value for money more than compensates for that.

    Exceptional

The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly - they let us drop our bags off before check-in time, and when we returned greeted me by name. They seemed to speak English, but switched over to French when we said that we spoke French (a sign of a very friendly French person - willingness to allow a non-native to speak to them in their language). Room was large and clean. Couldn't have asked for a better experience for the price.

The location of the hotel in the city centre was very convenient. It was surrounded by many restaurants and cafes.

The abruptness of the reception staff was disappointing. We were asked to pay for our stay that evening although Booked.net didn't specify this. The towels provided were wholly inadequate;barely the size of hand towels. The mattress was old and lumpy. We were glad to have booked one night only!

    Superb

Very nice and helpful people running the hotel - have stayed three times there now and will certainly go back. Free wireless connection plus it is 50 steps away from the roman amphitheatre!

Only 50m from Nimes Arena, surrounded by restaurants and bars, beautiful historical building. Very, very impressed, and at an excellent price. I will definitely stay there again.

    Fabulous

The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Nimes, right near the Place du Marche square. 24 hour underground car parking is available 5 mins walk away. This is a budget hotel, so don't expect luxury, but it is clean and comfortable and the owners are very friendly and helpful. It's a lovely family run hotel, full of character. There are lots of places to eat nearby. Wifi isn't available in the rooms but is avilable in public places, and the Cafe Mogador in the Square also has free wifi.

The breakfast is very simple - none of the cold meats and cheeses you would expect in France - and is a little overpriced at €7.50.

    Fabulous

Close to the amphitheatre, also within walking distance of railway station and airport buses. Old building with character. Simple, but very clean.

Surrounding area a bit noisy, but what can you expect in a city centre?

Brilliant location opposite the arena and surrounded by gorgeous historic streets with lovely cafes and shops. Fantastic walking distance to incredible Roman ruins and gardens. Lovely to have comfy, charming family hotel as our base. Terrific clean bathroom helped us feel fresh to continue or journey.

Would have been great to have easy access to Wifi from our room

    Good

The location is amazing, right in the heart of the city and only 10 metres from the Amphitheatre. Madame that runs the place is incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room over looked the famous square Place du Marche and the furnishings were very French shabby chic and stylish.

Terrible bathroom, made of chip board and without a proper shower.

    Very good

The location was ideal and gave us a great opportunity to explore the city of foot.

The bathroom sink taps didn't work well, and the faucet leaked. City cleaning activities were noicy and began very early in the morning. Some late night partying across the street made it difficult to get to sleep.

    Superb

The staff was warm and professional. The room was simple neat and comfortable.

Our room was right off the street and there are lots of street sounds

    Superb

The location of this hotel is perfect: in the city centre, very close to the amphitheatre. The rooms 12 (first floor), 14 (second floor) have a french balcony with a perfect vue on the Place du Marché and 18 (ours, on the third floor) also on the roofs of the city.

The hotel has no elevator and it is quite a climb to the third floor. The other rooms than 12, 14 and 18 have a view in a narrow street. Breakfast is simple.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Great breakfast. Lovely room with a view of the square. Location is brilliant next to the amphitheater, in the centre of the old town. 5 mins walk to the station.

    Wifi would be good.

    Exceptional

Location is superb and easy to find. Room was adequately sized, clean and comfortable. Easy access to restaurants, shopping and general touring of Nimes. Staff were friendly and helpful, eager to help an American try to speak/learn French. It was worth the price we paid versus other, similar hotels in Southern France. There was a nice, friendly, family feel about the place. We would stay here again if we re-visit Nimes. The hotel was recommended in the Rick Steves guidebook for Provence, and in our experience, he's usually spot on in recommendations.

At the time of year we were in Nimes, we did not need air conditioning, but I would point out that only a few rooms in the hotel have AC, so that could be an issue in mid-summer. However, the AC rooms can be reserved in advance.
